The Durrells
In 1935, a financially strapped widow, Louisa Durrell, whose life has fallen apart, decides to leave England with her four children (three sons, one daughter) for the Greek island of Corfu. There they move into a dilapidated old house that has no electricity and is crumbling apart. Life on Corfu is cheap—an earthly paradise—and the Durrells set about forging a new existence, with all its challenges, adventures, and the forming of relationships.
