The Egg and I
World War II veteran Bob MacDonald surprises his newlywed wife Betty by quitting his city job and relocating them to a dilapidated rural farm. Betty bravely grapples with the crumbling house, fends off meddling neighbors, and tames a recalcitrant pig, while Bob lays out ambitious plans for crops and livestock. Their idyll is jolted when a striking farm owner arrives, seemingly wanting more from Bob than merely tending her property.
