The Emperor of Ocean Park
Across the intertwined worlds of politics, academia, and the sunlit shores of Martha's Vineyard, Talcott Garland, an Ivy League law professor, sees his quiet life upended when his father, Judge Oliver Garland, dies of an apparent heart attack. The circumstances surrounding the judge's death are called into question by Tal's sister, Mariah, a former journalist and relentless conspiracy theorist, who maintains that the judge, a Black nominee to the Supreme Court who never reached the bench, may have fallen prey to foul play.
