The Fate of a Flirt

Sir James Gilbert, a British nobleman, makes a wager that he can win the affection of a particular young American woman who has captured his heart. Disguised as a chauffeur, James courts Mary Burgess, the niece of his wealthy employer, John Burgess. To secure the approval of Mary’s aunt, the pair draw her into a harmless ruse. Meanwhile, a villain threatens blackmail and tries to impersonate Sir James Gilbert. After a series of adventures, the blackmailer’s plans are thwarted. Mary’s previously hostile relatives are astonished and delighted when, instead of marrying a chauffeur, she becomes the bride of Sir Gilbert.
