Notorious serial killer Joe Carroll, convicted for murdering 14 female students on the Virginia college campus where he taught literature, escapes death row. The FBI enlists former agent Ryan Hardy to advise on the case—the very man who captured Carroll in 2003. Joining Hardy is an FBI team that includes Mike Weston and FBI Specialist Debra Parker as he traces the widening cascade of murders orchestrated by Carroll.
