In August 1995, Mikiya first encounters Shiki, dressed in a white kimono on a snowy day. Later, during the high school freshmen ceremony, he spots Shiki in the crowd, pursues her, and introduces himself. Yet Shiki conceals a formidable secret: a wave of bizarre murders unfolds with numerous loose ends and no suspects.
