The Hamlet Syndrome

Five young Ukrainians confront life after the 2014 Maidan Revolution. Not all of them fought in the Russian-Ukrainian war, but it nonetheless shattered their life plans. Representing Generation Maidan, they grapple with how to endure and move forward in the aftermath of violence. A local theatre director stages Hamlet, inviting them to use Shakespeare's tragic character as a mirror to confront their traumas on stage. For them, to be or not to be becomes an existential dilemma with no clear answer.
