The Home Movies of Eva Braun
Renowned for offering a bucolic, intimate glimpse into the world of senior Nazi officials. Eva Braun, Adolf Hitler's longtime partner, was also a photographer and amateur filmmaker. Her 8mm Agfacolor home movies, captured at her leisure, were seized by the U.S. Army in 1945. These recordings were later assembled into eight reels from a collection of 28 reels of original camera negatives. The U.S. National Archives received the eight-reel film in 1947, and in 2012 a digital restoration process commenced.
