The Howl of the Devil
In this gothic horror drama, Hector Doriani, a stage and screen actor, lives in the shadow of his dead twin, Alex Doriani, once a renowned star of horror cinema. Alex's young son Adrian now resides with Hector at an isolated countryside mansion. To keep his father's memory alive, the boy imagines encounters with the spirit of the dead man, embodied as a lineup of classic horror figures from the past. Eric, Alex's former butler, now serves Hector as well, tasked with locating and delivering to the mansion a series of women who are paid substantial sums by Hector to participate in a succession of sadistic sex games. As the narrative unfolds, the games invariably end with the women being slaughtered in various grisly ways by a black-gloved, masked killer. Adding to the intrigue, Caroline Munro appears as Hector's housekeeper and cook, a horror icon who is being pursued by a local priest with whom she once had a regretted affair.
