The Human Condition II: Road to Eternity
Assigned to the Japanese army labeled Red, Kaji bears witness to the cruelties within the ranks and revolts against the abusive treatment of a fellow recruit. He also sees his friend Shinjô defect toward the Russian border, and he ends up on the front to fight a doomed battle against the Russian tank division.
