The Pirates of Dark Water

Ren, the young son of a lighthouse keeper, rescues a stranded stranger clinging to the rocks near his home. The man reveals that he once served as an aide to Ren's true father, a mighty king. Ren receives a magical compass crystal that guides him to a dragon who explains that the only path to his heritage is to seek the Thirteen Treasures of Rule. However, a pirate ship captained by the evil Bloth is also pursuing the treasure and closes in on Ren. Along the journey, Ren gains allies such as Ioz the Pirate, Tula the Eco-Mage, and Niddler the Monkey-Bird, who assist him in his quest. The mission becomes ever more urgent when Ren learns that the Dark Water, a carnivorous form of water that consumes anything it snares, threatens to engulf his world and only the treasures he seeks can stop it.
