The Return

Stephen Royds arrives at an ancient house, declaring his intent to purchase the property, much to the astonishment of its solitary occupant, caretaker Mrs Parks. The residence has been virtually abandoned since its former owner, Gerald Harboys, was committed to an asylum following the alleged murder of his wife Muriel on their wedding night. Harboys was consumed by an obsession with the physical perfection of women and, discovering that Muriel had had her right middle toe amputated in childhood, murdered her. Yet Muriel’s ghost is said to linger within the old house.
