Freddie Jackson walks free in 1984, having completed a four-year term for armed robbery. His wife, Jackie, who has waited on the outside with the mistaken belief that he intends to go straight, is quickly confronted with the truth: Freddie is determined to re-enter the criminal world and crown himself the leading figure of the East End underworld.
