An ordinary neighborhood director matches wits and resolve against a group that operates an elaborate pyramid scheme. Xia Hui Lan is a righteous woman who relishes meddling in others’ affairs. Following the suicide of Wang Xiao Lang, she uncovers that a pyramid-scheme organization is expanding its grip on their community. With the police unable to make headway, Xia Hui Lan resolves to infiltrate the organization to gather evidence. Assistant Chief Inspector Wang Da De and a cadre of allies join her both inside and outside the organization to reveal the mastermind. Yet Xia Hui Lan is taken aback when a distant past resurfaces: city councilor Yang proves to be an old lover, and her missing sons become adversaries.
