As school begins anew, Dave is thrilled the kids will be out of the house—until he and Vicki discover each child has their own agenda. Mike begins to question his current romantic relationship, a move that unsettles Dave because the girl is the daughter of Dave's new best friend. But when Dave meddles in Mike's life to indulge his "man-crush" on the girl's father, he causes unintended harm. Meanwhile, Hillary adjusts her study habits after catching a glimpse of her future, and Larry reinvents himself for the new school year.
