The Wedding Party
In the rural expanse of Westphalia, innkeeper Franz Berger fights to keep his inn afloat. Today, a blunt, overbearing bully, Hermann Walzer, has reserved the dining room for his son Mark's wedding banquet. Longstanding animosity sours the air between Berger and Walzer, and when the first course, a shrimp cocktail, goes awry, Hermann storms out with the wedding party, vowing they will not pay. Franz locks the loo door, taking prisoners of the bride and Hermann's wife, while he seals the estate gates, leaving Hermann and the guests outside. Walzer, a pheasant hunter, lays siege; shotguns, rifles, grenades, a shovel, and other weapons render the premises treacherous. Will it take death to bring these men to their senses?
