Thermae Romae II
In ancient Rome, the celebrated bathhouse architect Lucius (Hiroshi Abe) rises to prominence for creating the original thermae. He is commissioned to construct a thermae within the Colosseum to aid wounded gladiators, but encounters formidable obstacles. To overcome them, Lucius is swept through a time-slip to modern-day Japan, where he reunites with Manami (Aya Ueto), now a journalist covering bathroom culture. With the aid of the flat-faced Japanese tribe, he designs a new thermae anew. Concurrently, Emperor Hadrian (Masachika Ichimura) seeks to preserve peace through the thermae, while the Senate pushes to extend their dominion by force. A confrontation between Hadrian and the Senate erupts, fracturing Rome.
