This England

Set against Claverly Village, the tale follows the fortunes of the Rookebys (portrayed by Clements) and the roguish Appleyards (Williams) across the span from the Norman era to the years 1588, 1804, 1914 and 1940. Conceived to sustain morale during wartime, its core message is that the British spirit cannot be suppressed, having roots dating back to the dawn of history and destined to endure to the very end.
