An eccentric, light-bulb-headed orphan named Otto Osworth navigates life under the harsh supervision of Sister Thornly, the cruel nun at the School for Wayward Tots who punishes him for his fascination with history. Otto's knowledge becomes his ticket out when he convinces time cop Buck Tuddrussel and his robot helper Larry to abduct him. In a blink, he’s hurled to a satellite and thrust into Eli Whitney's era, where the trio must persuade Whitney to forge the cotton gin instead of a flesh-eating robot.
