Makoto Misumi is an ordinary high school student living a routine life, until he is suddenly summoned to a distant realm to assume the role of a "hero." The goddess of that realm taunts him for his difference, strips away his "hero" title, and banishes him to the wilderness at the edge of the world. As he journeys through the untamed land, Makoto encounters dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and a host of non-human tribes. Because he originates from another world, he can unleash unimaginable magical powers and formidable combat prowess. Yet how will he navigate these encounters and endure in his new surroundings? In this fantasy, Makoto aims to reshape the other world into a better place, even as humans and gods have forsaken him.
