Diamond, a Brooklyn rapper striving to break free from the city’s mean streets, partners with his longtime friend Gage as his manager to lay down a demo on cut-rate studio time. To cover the bills, he and Gage run drugs for Mr. B. In a single week, Diamond's beloved mother dies suddenly, his father resurfaces after 12 years and seeks a relationship, and his girlfriend Kia reveals she’s pregnant, asking if he’s ready to become a father. Gage steals $100,000 in a multi-felony robbery so that Diamond can record a full album, not realizing it’s Mr. B’s money he’s taken. B wants his money, Diamond wants his music, Tia wants an answer.
