Set in a quintessential English working-class town, the youth have little to occupy them beyond lingering in gangs. One day, Alan Darcy, a highly motivated man with a similar upbringing, dedicates himself to steering the young from the streets into a purpose they can believe in: boxing. Darcy establishes a boxing club, with the aim of uniting the rival gangs.
