Ugetsu
In 16th-century Japan, peasants Genjuro and Tobei peddle their handmade earthenware to a band of soldiers in a nearby village, flouting a local sage's warning against profiting from war. Genjuro pursues both wealth and the elusive Lady Wakasa, while Tobei harbors a dream of becoming a samurai, a pursuit that threatens to ruin them and their wives, Miyagi and Ohama.
