Rancher-sheriff Ralph Lamb yearns for peace to run his ranch, but Las Vegas is swelling with outsiders and corruption that intrude on his simple life. Recalling his World War II military police command, the Mayor appeals to his sense of duty to investigate the murder of a casino worker—and so begins Lamb’s clash with Vincent Savino, a ruthless Chicago gangster who plans to make Vegas his own.

How this show didn't go further than one season is beyond me. Do TV execs just not know good TV when they have it or what? Two perfect main characters. Cowboys vs gangsters. Las Vegas in its childhood. A perfect blend of action and drama. With characters you become attached to, even the bad guys. Gorgeously colourful sets and backdrops with perfectly period costumes and props. And the whole time you're asking yourself "Is this how it really happened?" Did I mention I really like this show?
