High school student Yota Moteuchi is so unpopular that his classmates have nicknamed him "Dateless." So it comes as no surprise when the girl he loves, Moemi, has no interest in Yota and is instead in love with his best friend, Takashi. Seeking comfort, Yota visits a video rental shop, unaware that it is magical and that the charming girl from the tape he rents will emerge from the television to try to mend his shattered love life!
