We Have Forgotten to Return Home

Filmmaker Fatih Akin embarks on a journey to uncover his family roots, weaving a vivid portrait of his Turkish heritage. In 1965, his father emigrated from Turkey to Germany in search of work as a guest worker. He planned to stay for just two years, but he ultimately brought his wife to Hamburg and remains employed to this day at the chemical cleaning factory where he first found a job.
