Poon is a tireless provider who, after his parents died, left school to support himself and his younger brother. He launched a somtum stall outside his rented home, yet he barely makes ends meet. Then one of his customers recruits him to be a chef at a hotel owned by that customer’s friend. The hotel owner, Tian, is a young, hot‑headed entrepreneur. They had crossed paths before and carried a poor impression of each other. When Poon learned Tian owned the hotel, he initially refused the offer. But Tian challenged him to prove himself, and to avoid being looked down upon, Poon accepts the position. Tian fell in love with Poon's food once he tasted it but wouldn't admit it to Poon, so he claimed the dishes were horrible. The two clash whenever they meet, yet their daily spats gradually give way to something more.
