Season 1

NASA handpicks seven men to become the agency's first astronauts. They are all seasoned test pilots, ready to stake everything on the line. No one has yet survived a vertical launch atop a rocket, but it remains the only path to place an astronaut in Earth orbit. NASA and America's first astronauts, the Mercury Seven, set forth on a voyage into the unknown. Six of the men ascend into space, each mission pushing NASA farther along its quest to conquer space.
