Wild River

Set against rural Tennessee, a young Tennessee Valley Authority administrator travels to oversee the construction of a dam. He encounters opposition from the local community, most notably a farmer who objects to his employment of local black laborers, paid workers. Much of the drama centers on the eviction of a stubborn octogenarian from her home on a river island, and the young man's love affair with that woman's widowed granddaughter.
