Wish I Was Here
Aidan Bloom, a 35-year-old actor who is also a devoted husband and father, is a man in search of purpose as he and his wife navigate financial hardship. He retreats into childhood fantasies of becoming the great futuristic Space-Knight he always dreamed of. When his ailing father can no longer afford private school for their two children and the only available public school is on its last legs, Aidan reluctantly agrees to homeschool them. Through teaching them about life in his own way, he gradually uncovers parts of himself he had never been able to find.

Really good watch, could watch again, and can recommend. Big fan of Joey King ("The Act"), and Kate Hudson ("How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days"), and even Zach Graff ("Scrubs") and Josh Gad ("Frozen") give a great performance. Unfortunately, while it has comedic elements, it's not a terribly funny movie. It's more like taking a serious situation and presenting it to someone in a very palatable, if obvious fashion. This is a "life is hard", mixed with "tragic family event" tropes with some nice multi-threading for sub plots. While it's a nice story of pushing through adversity, it's still a heavy story, a sad story, but (like in real life) it's about getting past the bad to grow the good.
