Woman’s Affairs
Tong Siu-wah is unemployed and shares a room with Chi-on. Their neighbor Lai-ping works in a factory, while another neighbor, Siu-kuen, is poised to become Manager Chin's mistress. Siu-wah never crosses paths with them. To repay her family debts, Siu-kuen is forced into being a mistress, and Chin is set to marry Siu-kuen in that role. Lai-ping and Siu-kuen are friends, and Lai-ping wants to help. The two have never met and quarrel; Lai-ping separates their rooms, accidentally shattering Siu-wah's glass frame. Lai-ping meets her penpal and discovers that the penpal is Siu-wah, and they teach each other ways to outsmart their flatmates. Lai-ping places a fake snake in his room, while Siu-wah places pins on her bed. The two eventually realize who the other is. Lai-ping helps Siu-kuen pay off her debt and avoid marrying Manager Chin. Chi-on discovers that his boss's husband is Siu-kuen's husband-to-be and reveals the truth to Mrs. Chin, prompting Chin to cancel the marriage. In the end, Lai-ping and Siu-wah become a couple.
