WWE Royal Rumble 2006
Royal Rumble 2006 marked the nineteenth edition of WWE's flagship pay-per-view. It was presented by Sony Computer Entertainment's The Con and took place on January 29, 2006, at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. The night pitted the era's top stars from WWE's RAW and SmackDown! in a pivotal clash to determine WrestleMania 22's heavyweight title contender. The card featured high-stakes championship bouts: Edge versus John Cena for the WWE Championship; Kurt Angle defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Mark Henry; a six-man cruiserweight showdown for the Cruiserweight Title featuring Kid Kash, Funaki, Gregory Helms, Jamie Noble, Nunzio, and Paul London; Mickie James versus Ashley; and The Boogeyman versus John 'Bradshaw' Layfield.
