WWE WrestleMania XX
WrestleMania XX, the twentieth edition of the marquee event, unfolded on March 14, 2004, inside Madison Square Garden in New York. The Raw main event delivered a high-stakes Triple Threat for the World Heavyweight Championship featuring champion Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Chris Benoit. On the SmackDown! side, Eddie Guerrero challenged Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship. The night also marked the return of The Undertaker, who issued a challenge to Kane. In addition, Goldberg clashed with Brock Lesnar, with Stone Cold Steve Austin serving as the special guest referee. WrestleMania XX was the third Mania staged at MSG and the fifth in the New York metropolitan area (following WrestleMania I, II, X, and 29). The event generated US$2.4 million in ticket sales, making it the highest-grossing WWE pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden, with attendance surpassing 20,000.
