Zoey 101
Zoey 101 is an American television series that aired on Nickelodeon from January 9, 2005, to May 2, 2008. The show follows teenager Zoey Brooks and her friends as they attend Pacific Coast Academy, a fictional boarding school in Southern California. Created by Dan Schneider, it was initially filmed on location at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, before production moved to stages in Valencia, California beginning with season 3. The series received a nomination for Outstanding Children's Program at the Emmy Awards in 2005. Zoey 101 was Nickelodeon’s most expensive production to that time, shot entirely on location in Malibu. It also delivered Nickelodeon’s best series premiere performance in almost eight years. Despite these achievements, many critics offered negative commentary on the show, its setting, and its characters.
