The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 is a significant event as the tournament expands to a 12-team format for its 10th edition. It will take place at famous cricket venues in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5, 2026. This exciting event aims to be the most competitive showcase in the history of women's short-format cricket.
With two more spots available compared to previous years, the qualification process allowed more chances for emerging cricket nations. Hosts England gained automatic entry, along with the top five teams from the 2024 tournament. The next two spots came from the global ICC T20I rankings, while the last four places were fiercely fought over in the Global Qualifier tournament, which saw the Netherlands qualify for the first time.
The 12 competing nations are split into two groups of six. The tournament uses a round-robin format, so every country plays five group-stage matches against their group opponents. Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout semi-finals.
A total of 33 thrilling matches will take place over 24 days at seven historic and lively cricket venues in the UK, culminating in a grand final at the "Home of Cricket."
