Anand Reaffirms Loyalty Following Expulsion

Akash Anand, former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader and nephew of party chief Mayawati, has dismissed rumors regarding his departure from the political organization. In a post on X on October 2, Anand reiterated his commitment to the BSP and stated he would not join any other political party.

"Not today, not ever," Anand wrote regarding the speculation about his future political alignment. He described the BSP as more than just a political entity, calling it his family. Addressing Mayawati directly in the post, Anand identified her as his "political guru" and "paternal aunt." He stated that he learned politics under her guidance and wished to place his words before her and the Bahujan society.

The statement comes after both Anand and Ashok Siddharth were expelled from the BSP by Mayawati in September 2026. The party chief accused them of prioritizing familial ties over party loyalty.

Support for Party Discipline Measures

Anand explicitly supported Mayawati’s decision to expel his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth. He described the move as "entirely appropriate," emphasizing that the party's mission takes precedence over personal relationships.

In the October 2 post, Anand apologized for his previous silence on social media, which he said led to misunderstandings and rumors about his political future. He requested an opportunity to serve the BSP and its mission again under Mayawati’s leadership. Anand promised to prove his trust through actions and hard work.

Clarifying Political Future

Anand addressed the speculation surrounding his political future directly, aiming to clear the air after a period of silence that had fueled rumors. By reaffirming his loyalty, he sought to demonstrate that his previous absence from public discourse was not an indication of disloyalty or intent to defect.

The former leader emphasized that his relationship with Mayawati extends beyond political alliance, rooted in familial bonds and mentorship. He highlighted that his political education was shaped under her guidance, reinforcing the depth of his connection to the party's leadership.

Context of Expulsion

The expulsion of Anand and Siddharth marked a significant moment for the BSP, highlighting Mayawati's strict stance on party discipline. The decision was framed as a necessary step to ensure that no member prioritizes personal or familial interests over the collective goals of the organization.

Anand’s recent post serves as a direct response to this disciplinary action, attempting to reconcile his position within the party while acknowledging the validity of the measures taken against him and his father-in-law.
