Dolphins Inactive List for Week 7
The Miami Dolphins have released their inactive list for the Week 7 game against the New York Jets, which is scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium. The team will be without two veteran players: linebacker Willie Gay Jr. and wide receiver Jalen Tolbert.
Gay’s absence is attributed to an illness that caused him to miss practice on Thursday. He was listed as questionable on the final injury report after returning to participate in a limited capacity during Friday's session.
Gay's unavailability is expected to impact the Dolphins' linebacker rotation. His absence likely results in increased playing time for Jackson Woodard, who would be tasked with forming a third linebacker unit alongside Jordyn Brooks and rookie Jacob Rodriguez.
Tolbert will also be inactive, remaining on the bench as the sixth wide receiver. He is ranked fourth on the depth chart behind rookie Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, Malik Washington, Kevin Coleman Jr., and Jared Wayne. Tolbert will not participate on special teams during this matchup.
Rookies and Other Inactives
Despite the absence of veterans, the Dolphins will welcome back two rookies for the game. Third-round draft pick Caleb Douglas is active, as is safety Kyle Louis, who was activated off injured reserve on Saturday.
The rest of the Dolphins' inactive list includes cornerback Reese Taylor, edge rusher Rob Beal Jr., cornerback Marcellas Dial Jr., and offensive linemen Chukwuebuka Godrick and DJ Campbell.
Jets Injury Report
The New York Jets will also face the game with several key players inactive. Running back Breece Hall remains sidelined for a fourth consecutive game due to a quad injury. Hall has not played since Week 3.
Other Jets inactives include running back Kene Nwangwu, offensive linemen Dylan Parham and Max Mitchell, defensive back Jarvis Brownlee Jr., edge rusher Joseph Ossai, and defensive lineman Jack Heflin.
