Walls Responds to Post-Game Inquiry

\n

Tampa Bay Rays infielder Taylor Walls responded sharply to a question posed by FOX Sports analyst Ken Rosenthal following Game 4 of the World Series. After the Rays defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in 12 innings, avoiding a series sweep, Walls described Rosenthal's inquiry as \"pretty disrespectful.\"

The Rays trailed the series 3-0 entering the game. By forcing a Game 5, they became only the fifth team in World Series history to avoid elimination after falling behind by three games.

During the post-game interview, Rosenthal asked Walls if winning one game was important to prove that the Rays belonged on the World Series stage. The question implied that the American League champion team might be inferior to their National League opponents.

Walls did not accept the premise of the inquiry. He responded directly to the analyst, stating, \"We are a team that is capable of winning four... We have full confidence that we can do it.\"

The Rays' victory in Game 4 was a significant defensive and offensive effort. Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Robert Gasser pitched six scoreless innings during the series, and the Brewers had scored eight runs with two outs in the top of the fifth inning against Rays starter Freddy Peralta in Game 3.

\n

Despite these challenges, the Rays managed to secure the win in 12 innings. The team is now three wins away from the championship, while the Brewers are one win away from securing the title.

No team in Major League Baseball history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the World Series. Of the 25 previous teams to fall behind 3-0, 21 were swept in Game 4 and four lost in Game 5.

\n

The Rays' ability to force a fifth game places them in rare company, though they remain without a precedent
