Warnings on Nuclear Deterrence and Sovereignty
General Syed Aamer Raza, Commander of the National Strategic Command, issued a stern warning regarding regional stability, stating that any miscalculation will invite a response beyond an adversary's imagination. He stressed that there is no room for war in a nuclearized environment.
Gen Aamer stated that Pakistan would not tolerate cross-border aggression or violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity. He urged adversaries not to mistake restraint for weakness, according to reports from Brecorder.
The strategic commander’s remarks followed Pakistan’s rejection of comments made by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Singh had previously asserted that any future terrorist act originating from Pakistan would draw a stronger response.
Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan addressed the tensions, stating that India should learn from last year’s events. Khan affirmed that Islamabad was prepared to respond fully to any threat to its security.
Military Transformation and Hybrid Threats
Gen Aamer noted that traditional operational doctrines are becoming inadequate due to disruptive technologies. This shift has prompted a multi-domain transformation within the Pakistan Armed Forces, he reported.
The commander warned that adversaries are actively seeking to undermine national cohesion through disinformation, narrative warfare, proxy terrorism, and sub-conventional tactics.
Regional Stability and Diplomatic Roles
Beyond immediate security threats, Gen Aamer cited Pakistan’s role in facilitating regional stability through the Islamabad Accord and Makkah Accord. He noted that this diplomatic engagement highlights the country's growing strategic importance amid changing global geopolitics and ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Support for Palestinian Cause
The commander expressed support for the Palestinian people, condemning violence against civilians and the destruction of infrastructure. He pledged continued diplomatic, moral, and political support for their cause.
Kashmir as Unfinished Agenda
Gen Aamer described Kashmir as an unfinished agenda of partition. He affirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle in accordance with their aspirations and UN resolutions.
