Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez has become the fifth player in Major League Baseball history to record at least 40 home runs, 100 RBIs, and 30 intentional walks in a single season before turning 30. The milestone was reached during the 2026 MLB season.
Alvarez, who turns 30 later this year, posted 41 home runs and 102 RBIs over 153 games in 2026. He finished the season with a .314 batting average and a 1.032 on-base plus slugging (OPS) percentage. His performance included 33 intentional walks, a statistic that highlights the caution opposing teams exercised when facing him.
Alvarez is from Las Tunas, Cuba. Analyst Francys Romero noted on social media that "Álvarez is steadily building a career as a player for the ages" in reference to his continued elite production.

Alvarez's achievement ends a 17-year drought for this statistical combination. No hitter had reached the threshold of 40 home runs, 100 RBIs, and 30 intentional walks before age 30 since Pujols did so in 2009.
