Seventeen-year-old Joshua 'J' Cody relocates to a sun-soaked Southern California beach town, living with his freewheeling relatives after his mother dies of a heroin overdose. At the helm is the boot-tough matriarch Janine 'Smurf' Cody, with her right-hand Baz steering the operation and calling the shots. The clan also includes Pope, the oldest and most dangerous of the Cody brothers; Craig, the tough and fearless middle son; and Deran, the troubled, suspicious 'baby' of the family.
