In 2015 CE, magecraft lingers as the final remnant of an ancient era. The Chaldea Security Organization is founded to safeguard the continuity of human history. They monitor a world that magecraft cannot perceive and science cannot measure, all to prevent humanity's certain extinction. Yet the future they have been watching disappears, and humanity's annihilation in 2017 becomes undeniable. The root seems linked to Fuyuki, a provincial town in Japan, in 2004 CE, where an unseen region that never existed before surfaces. Believing Fuyuki to be the trigger of humanity's downfall, Chaldea orders an expedition to explore, inquire, and, if necessary, destroy this singularity — a quest for the Holy Grail, the Grand Order.
