Rabbit's Moon
A Japanese fairy tale collides with the vibrant tradition of commedia dell'Arte. Clad entirely in white, the naïf Pierrot lies at rest in a forest glade. Doo-wop music swells as he rises, surveys his surroundings, and reaches toward the moon. Even as music fills the air and the woodland children play, Pierrot remains melancholy and solitary. Harlequin appears, brimming with confidence and vitality. He conjures the lovely Colombina. Pierrot is dazzled. But can the course of true love run smooth?
