Teachers Only

Teachers Only is an NBC sitcom centered on a high school's faculty. In its first season the action unfolds at Millard Fillmore High in Los Angeles, while the second season relocates to Woodrow Wilson High in New York with an altered cast. Norman Fell portrays Principal Ben Cooper across both seasons. Lynn Redgrave's Diana Swanson shifts from English teacher in season one to guidance counselor in season two. Redgrave and Fell were established names when the show aired, and in the second season two supporting stars rose to prominence: Jean Smart would three years later become best known for her role as Charlene Frazier Stillfield on Designing Women, and Teresa Ganzel would gain recognition for numerous 1980s game show appearances as well as her role in the Fresno miniseries. The series ran for two seasons, in 1982 and 1983.
