Where Do You Stand Today, Christian Petzold?

Où en êtes-vous ? (Where do you stand today?) is a project initiated by Centre Pompidou that commissions guest filmmakers to craft a free-form film in response to a question that is simultaneously retrospective, introspective and oriented toward their future ideas and projects. In this installment, Christian Petzold is joined by Christoph Hochhäusler to examine a sequence from Hitchcock's The Wrong Man (1956) through a series of photograms. In paying tribute to Harun Farocki, who died in 2014, Petzold endeavors to revive and sustain the spirit, sensibility and methods of his former teacher and friend.
