HDFC Bank slashes FD rates; peak now at 6.45% for savers

HDFC Bank has decided to chop its fixed deposit rates by 15 basis points, starting December 17. Now, the highest rate is 6.45%, down from 6.60%. Meanwhile, SBI is in the game too, making similar cuts. It looks like savers might see a little dip in mid-term returns, but who knows, maybe the long-term plans will still bring in the bucks!
