AD Ports launches new trade corridor
The AD Ports Group announced on June 21, 2026 that it has launched an integrated logistics service linking Khalifa Port in the United Arab Emirates with Iraq's Umm Qasr Port. The launch establishes a new trade corridor connecting the Gulf region with Turkiye and European markets, Anadolu Agency reported via Middle East Monitor.
Infrastructure deployment
In a statement released by the group, officials said they have deployed necessary logistics infrastructure at both Khalifa Port and Umm Qasr. The stated aim of these deployments is to facilitate cargo storage and transportation while ensuring smoother trade flows and strengthening long-term supply chain resilience.
Role of Umm Qasr
Anadolu Agency reported that Umm Qasr is located on Iraq's southern coast in Basra. According to the report, the port serves as a key gateway for goods moving from Gulf states to Turkiye and Europe through overland and rail freight corridors.
