Audio Rights and Publication Timeline

Blackstone Publishing has acquired the audiobook rights to "Misadventures on K Street: My Decade with the Architects of Modern Political Scandal," a memoir by K. Riva Levinson, according to an announcement from Heresy Press and Skyhorse Publishing. The audiobook is scheduled for publication on April 20, 2027.

Levinson, identified as the chief executive officer of KRL International, stated that she looks forward to narrating the audiobook herself. She noted that Blackstone previously published her debut memoir, "Choosing the Hero," and described this new release as a prequel to that work.

In conjunction with the audio acquisition, electronic advance reader copies (eARCs) of the book have been made available by request. These digital copies are accessible to accredited journalists, book reviewers, and literary editors. The eARC publication date is set for February 16, 2027.

Memoir Content and Historical Context

The memoir details Levinson’s experiences beginning in 1985 at age twenty-four during the second term of President Ronald Reagan. She joined the lobbying firm Black, Manafort, Stone & Kelly (BMS&K) at that time.

According to the publisher, the book chronicles Levinson’s encounters with international figures including Jonas Savimbi and Abdul Ghani Lone, both of whom were later assassinated. The narrative describes her narrow escapes from post-election violence in Angola, civil war in Mogadishu, and evasion of the Indian army, which believed she was a spy.

Levinson is described as a globally recognized political strategist and international field operative who founded her consultancy, KRL International.

Endorsements and Reception

U.S. Senator Chris Coons described the book as an "invaluable look at the mechanics of political power in D.C. during the late Cold War era." Former U.S. Senator and U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Jeff Flake called the memoir an engaging account of the intersection of Washington lobbying, Cold War geopolitics, and the personalities who shaped them.
