In a contemporary setting, Sterling is a modern-day Alice. The graveyard Lotus she redeems becomes a totem—an intense, time-bending phenomenon that lets her move freely through time along a phantom road. It is reminiscent of a Ford, yet never a DeLorean. A Southern woman bearing substantial historical baggage and deep secrets, Sterling returns to her rural home as the Lotus guides her through the valley’s shadow into the adjacent worlds of the living and the dead. Desiring to become an F1 driver, Sterling must go fast and hard, through every tunnel imagined or concrete.
