Zatoichi's Conspiracy

Zatoichi, the renowned blind swordsman, returns to his native village for the first time in many years. He is befriended by Omiyo, who shares the same wet-nurse as Zatoichi. He also encounters his boyhood friend Shinbei, who is now wealthy and seems to have forgotten Zatoichi. Shinbei appears eager to settle the villagers' debts, but in truth he is manipulating the ownership of a now valuable rock quarry. Zatoichi uncovers the ruse and confronts his old ally, who is backed by a cadre of yakuza swordsmen.
